Embracing Natural Variability in Stone Products
All natural products which are extracted and derived from the Earth have inherent characteristics such as, but not limited to variations in colour, tone, texture & patterning and sizing +1.5 -1.5 mm dimensional and thicknesses, there may be upto 5% of stone supplied with small defects, chips or damage as this is standard supply conditions world wide for natural stone products and these affected pieces should be used for cuts and be allowed for in the wastage factor of your order.
Natural stone may have minor pitting in the surface and fissures within the face of the stone, in some instances edges may have minor chipping which may occur during the cutting process, some of these natural occurring defects may be filled with resins or grout as a common practice in the processing of the stone after it is cut from the earth. Due to the nature of Natural Stone, samples given to clients may vary in size, thickness and colour and are indicative examples of our products and may vary from sample to order.
Optimal Sealing Strategies for Natural Stone Installation
Arlo Stone + Finishes recommends sealing natural stone products that are installed to floors, splashbacks or in wet areas with 'Stain Proof' by 'Dry Treat'. For all Natural Stone; the first coat to be applied prior to grouting, followed by a second coat after grout has been applied, consult your stone mason or installer as this can vary from stone to stone.
Arlo recommends all pool surrounds to be sealed prior to installation, some natural stone is moisture sensitive and fast set adhesives may need to be used to avoid transfer of moisture through the stone.
There are no returns of Natural product.
Adhering to Australian Standards and Safety Measures in Stone Installation
Australian standards apply to fixing of stone above 2800 high, use caution and stone above this height may need additional pinning or epoxy adhesive to comply to Australian standards, adhesive sold is not a recommendation and site conditions must be assessed by installer of the product.
SOME STONE PRODUCTS MAY CONTAIN SILICA AND ALL SAFEFTY PRECAUTIONS TO BE USED WHEN CUTTING AND INSTALLING. CUTTING SHOULD BE DONE WET. NO DRY CUTTING OF STONE AS PER STANDARDS SET BY HEALTH AND SAFETY ADMINISTRATION.
